Engineer Tool
Decode SMD resistor markings without leaving the engineering workflow.
Fast lookup for standard 3-digit, 4-digit, decimal-R, and EIA-96 resistor codes with one-step copyable output.
Reads
103, 4R7, 01C
Best For
Bench checks and BOM validation
Returns
Formatted resistance value
Use It When
You need a quick decode from a body marking before replacement or rework.
You want a cleaner result than manual table lookup for EIA-96 or decimal-R parts.
You need a value you can copy directly into notes, tickets, or internal reports.

Standard Codes
3-digit and 4-digit format
Standard SMD resistor codes use significant figures followed by a multiplier.
- •First digits: significant figures
- •Last digit: multiplier power of ten
- •R: decimal point
103 →10 × 10³ = 10 kΩ
4R7 →4.7 Ω
Precision Series
EIA-96 lookup logic
EIA-96 markings are common on 1% resistors and combine a code with a multiplier letter.
- •Two digits: E96 series reference value
- •Letter: multiplier code
01C →100 × 100 = 10 kΩ
